Samurai Warriors: KATANA Coming to the Wii

Yes, the KATANA bit is really all caps. Where’s my eye rolling smiley?
A few things stand out about this video. It has analog sword play. That’s pretty cool. Mix in some special moves and it has a nice look. It’s on rails. Not sure how I feel about that, but overall, I think it’s going to be an interesting idea: a sword “shooter” on rails.
Other things: I hope the players of this game have their Wiimote Jackets properly secured onto their controllers ’cause with all that swinging, someone’s little brother is going to get clobbered. How many swipes of a katana does it take to kill a ninja, anyway? I’ll tell you — it’s one. One thing they get totally right is being able to slash the guy in back, too. And of course, I know this from all my time in feudal Japan… or something.
Should be available in the US January ‘08.
