The Sims is great fun, but the reason you don’t hear about it more is because, unlike World of Warcraft which you can actually walk away from at times, the Sims completely consumes its players eventually leaving them and their families lifeless husks devoid of life and soul.
I kid.
It only consumes your soul.
With the latest expansion set, however, it’s approaching a universe-collapsing singularity. The Sims 2: Free Time allows you to give your Sims hobbies and free time activities they can pursue for their entire Sim-lifetime. These activities are the sorts of things you’d probably find yourself doing if you shut off the computer or turned off the modem for a change. (Not that we want you to do that: we love you, our readers.) Among the activities are Arts and Crafts, Music, Modeling, Baking, Dancing, Science, and Nature just to name a few.
But if you’re in to the Sims, this really looks like a worthwhile expansion, sure to add depth to your Sims’ existence. And occupy a great deal of time in your real existence.
