Worst loading times ever

A stopwatch.I just stumbled across this YouTube video, showing off the loading times in the Xbox 360 version of Sonic the Hedgehog. I know it’s an older game but I simply had to share the video, as I’ve never seen anything this bad. The video shows a gamer’s attempt to play through a mini-game where you view a stack of boxes with a fixed camera angle and have to guess the number of boxes in it, taking into account the ones you can’t see. This is already bad, a prime example of “boring mini-game filler,” but I can get over it. Unfortunately, what should be a 2 minute process is turned into an interminable ordeal by the ridiculous loading times. After accepting the mini-game, you’re treated to a 20 second loading screen so that a character can say one 3 second line, followed by another 20 second loading screen allowing you to view the boxes, followed by another 20 second loading screen so you can pick a number, followed by another 20 second loading screen so you can find out if you were correct. If you were, you get to view another stack of boxes (after a 20 second loading screen), but if you were wrong you get dumped back to the main world (after a 20 second loading screen) and have to start all over. I’ve seen bad, but… wow.
