Whoa. Some very ambitious hackers have ported Quake 3 Arena onto the iPod Touch. The video shows off one guy controlling two Touches which are networked together. It uses the accelerometer to control movement, and it’s obvious that it still needs some work before it’ll be really usable, but it’s a great example of just how powerful the iPhone and iPod Touch are. I can’t wait to see some real indie games come out on these things. Just how awesome would Gish be with an accelerometer?
