Grand Theft Auto IV suffering freezing problem

The guys at Kotaku posted about a problem that is apparently affecting both PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers who have just gotten their hands on Grand Theft Auto IV. An unknown bug is causing the game to completely freeze during the introductory cut-scene — and no one knows why. The author called Rockstar and spoke to a harried tech support person who said they don’t know what’s causing it, except that it’s affecting some 60 GB PS3s, but not all of them. It’s also affecting certain 360s, although if there’s a pattern there no one has spotted it. Rockstar can’t give an ETA on a fix because so far they have no idea what the problem is. A rather dark stain on a launch that has otherwise been a dream for the company.
