Grand Theft Auto IV sold 3.6 million units on its release day, garnering $310 million in revenue and earning itself a place in the Guinness World Records. Rockstar is now the proud owner of the product listed as Highest Grossing Video Game in 24 Hours and Highest Revenue Generated by an Entertainment Product in 24 Hours. The success has not come without price, however: enterprising hackers have embedded viruses in files claiming to be either the XBox 360 or as-yet-unreleased PC version of the game.
