We only collect very limited information from you, and we will never sell or give that information to anyone else, period. We don’t send unsolicited emails either.
Here are the specifics:
Our server logs will show the IP address and domain of the visotrs to this website. This information is not released beyond our own internal audits.
When you post on our message boards, or in the comments section of a story on this site we record the nickname you provide, along with your email address and any other information you may volunteer. We do not sell this information, and your email address is never published publicly for anyone else to see.
We set a limited number of cookies on this site to facilitate your posting after login, and to make sure you don’t see the same ad twice on the same page within a certain period of time (if at all possible). We do not sell this information, or do anything with it other than allow you to stay “logged in” to the website without having to re-enter your information every time you visit.
We track only aggregate, non-personal information (such as geographic location based on your IP address) and other basic traffic data. This information is used to customize the website, or the ads on it.
We occasionally partner with third-party advertising networks, we do not give them any of your personal information, and they only know how many times an ad is served, on which pages it is served, and how many times it is clicked on. An example of a third party ad network we may be using is Google Adwords.
We partner with various affiliate marketing programs to offer their products and services to you on our site, we don’t collect any information you may give them when you click off of our site and on to theirs. We go to extraordinary lengths to ensure that there affiliates are legitimate, well intentioned people and companies who are well known. An example of one of these programs is the Amazon.com purchase links on our review pages.
If you enter a contest that we sponsor, we will only collect the information that you volunteer, and will not pass that information on to any third party, except as needed to ensure delivery of the prizes that you have won. An example of this would be to provide your name and delivery information to the shipping company.
We will not send you unsolicited email for any reason. The only time you will receive emails from us are if you have emailed us first, if you have entered and won a contest that we sponsor, and to confirm your registration for our message boards. We don’t believe in email advertising.
We will not disclose any other information about you to any third party, including the government, unless legally required to do so.
