Duke Nukem Forever still coming out or something blah blah whatever

Stop me if you've heard this one. Straight out of the "Pull the other one and it plays Jingle Bells" file, 3D Realms has announced that Duke Nukem Forever (the latest installment in the Duke Nukem series and considered to be the true sequel to the huge hit Duke Nukem 3D, released 12 years ago) might be out in 2008. Bizjournals.com says the game could be done by the end of this year with versions (probably) available for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. 3D Realms president Scott Miller said "We haven't formally announced any platforms for DNF, but, of course hitting the big three makes the most sense (PC, PS3, 360)". He also added that they can't make an official announcement on the release date just yet cause they might be off by a month or two. I kinda figure at this point that's like saying "here's the $10,000 I owe you, but I think I might be short a few nickels". It's true that Duke Nuke Forever has become something of an industry joke... with scathing commentary like this to twist 3D Realms' nipple over the endless delays and changes in development plans. The game can still manage to be quite cool if they're really putting the work into it that they say they are, and sometimes stuff like this does happen... so I'll be looking forward to seeing what they come out with when they finally do, but I'll be making jokes all along the way.
