Resistance 2 video teaser now online

Posted April 14th, 2008 at 11:23pm

The hearts of Playstation 3 users will, no doubt, start beating faster as they read the title and -yes- it's true: The first teaser trailer for Resistance 2, sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, has been released. Those of you who aren't aware should know that Reistance: FoM was one of the few launch titles for the PS3 that didn't put people immediately to sleep... so this sequel is hotly anticipated. The video is parked over at Kombo (courtesy of Youtube), and relatively little is said about the it other than "Enjoy, you Resistance-loving freaks" (more or less). Note, however, that this is just a teaser; no in-game footage appears (that's promised for June 13 on GameTrailersTV), but it should get the hair on your arms standing up nonetheless. There are also some tasty screenshots over at Kombo, too.

One million pre-orders for Gran Turismo 5

Posted March 20th, 2008 at 10:15pm

If you see the positively luscious visuals for the Playstation 3's upcoming Gran Turismo 5 then it won't come as much surprise to you that it's accumulated a whopping million pre-orders in Europe. Though the title is already kicking all butt in Japan as it is, the European pre-orders are the most noteworthy of all. Ars Technica credits the downloadable "beta" version and the PS3 bundle deal as having a lot to do with it.Combined with the inevitable sales generated by the downloadable version of the game and the recently-announced Euro GT5 PS3 bundle, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is on track to rock Europe hard when it lands later next month. Fellow download and disc title Warhawk, the leaderboards for which indicate that over 500,000 players have played at least a single ranked game, has set the pace for full retail-equivalent downloadable titles. That's a pace that Polyphony Digital's sim racer will likely be more than able to best. If you have a PS3 already make sure you browse the downloadable games and demos to find a pre-release "beta" style version of the game that you can get for free and test-run. If you're someone who got the console for the eye candy then you won't be disappointed.
